How To Make This Slow Cooker Chicken Recipe

Truly a dump and go crock pot recipe, this Hawaiian Pulled Chicken couldn’t be easier to make!

  1. Add chicken breasts, bbq sauce, brown sugar, crushed pineapple, teriyaki glaze, sliced bell peppers, soy sauce, salt and garlic powder to a 6 quart slow cooker. Cook on low for 4 hours.
  2. Remove the chicken breasts from the slow cooker and place on a board. Cool slightly and shred with two forks and cover to keep warm.
  3. Turn the slow cooker on high. Whisk together water and cornstarch in a small bowl and then pour into the slow cooker. Whisk to combine with the sauce, add the chicken back to the slow cooker. Cover and cook for 30 minutes to an hour to thicken the sauce.

Like we mentioned before, you can serve this chicken recipe on buns or sub rolls, we like to use the Hawaiian sweet rolls, or even in a sandwich wrap or tortilla. Other ways to serve this shredded chicken are in a baked potato with cheese and sour cream, as a topping for BBQ Chicken Pizza, or a bowl with rice on the side.

If you drain some of the sauce from this chicken you can even use this as a topping for nachos and even as a filling in tacos. There’s really a lot of way to use this easy chicken recipe, so get creative and think outside the bun!
