Jewellery Care
At TLKC all our jewelleryis made with genuine .925 sterling silver and our gold vermeil jewelleryis made with genuine .925 sterling silver which has been expertly plated with a rose or yellow gold layer.
All jewellery is and can be susceptible to damage and scratching as sterling silver is a relatively soft metal. When cared for correctly, your special keepsake jewellery will last a lifetime.
We have a few tips for taking care of your gorgeous keepsake jewellery…
The best way to keep your sterling silver jewellery looking beautiful is to wear it, as this stops the metal from oxidising with the air. However, the natural oils in skin as well as the body’s PH balance can vary from person to person and cause a reaction resulting in a tarnished effect to your jewellery.
We recommend regularly cleaning and polishing your jewellery with an anti-tarnish cloth to keep it looking shiny and pristine.
Avoid using commercial silver dips as they may remove the any finishes which are designed to highlight the detail in specific charms and jewellery in our collection.
To prevent your metals, gemstones and pearls from scratching and tarnishing, keep your jewellery in individual boxes or soft pouches and store these in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
It is best to remove all jewellery when in contact with water to keep your metal and gemstones in the best condition e.g. showers, swimming pools, the sea, etc.
Keep all of your metal and gemstones well away from domestic cleaning products and avoid contact with any corrosive chemicals like those in perfume, lotions, hairspray and rubber, as well as products containing sulphur such as mayo, eggs, mustard, wool and latex.
Avoid rose and yellow gold vermeil items coming into contact with soap, as it can give gold jewellery a dull appearance. A regular clean with an anti-tarnish polishing cloth will bring the brightness and sparkle back in a jiffy!
All our freshwater pearls are of the highest grade ensuring a beautiful lustre and colour. Pearls are delicate gems with a low resistance to heat, it’s best to avoid contact with any chemicals and cleaning sprays.
Stainless steel is much harder than sterling silver and other precious metals so it is best to keep it separate to avoid scratches or damage to other jewellery.
Although it is very strong and hard-wearing, stainless can still be damaged so it is best to avoid wearing during manual work or sports.
Our anti-tarnish polishing cloths will bring up your stainless steel keepsakes a treat, just remember to polish with the grain of the metal and not against it.
To best look after our adjustable ball slider bracelets, always put on or remove the bracelet with care as the chains can become weakened over time from repeated misuse.
When adjusting the fit of your bracelet please be sure to slide the ball fastening along the chain whilst holding the two ends of the bracelet. Ideally getting someone to help you will make this easier.
Don’t be tempted to try and tighten the bracelet by pulling the two ends away from each other or to tug on the chain to loosen it.

We strive to create and dispatch your beautiful keepsake jewellery as quickly as possible with the utmost care, we want you to be as excited by your items as we are here at the TLKC studio!
We aim to keep our handling time for all orders to the same working day as your order is placed but during peak times this handling time may be up to 3 working days.
Please note that if we require specifications or files to complete your personalised or engraved order (e.g. hand print photos, baby scan images, handwriting samples, engraving specifications) then our handling time will commence once we have confirmation of these details.
If you require your items urgently, please select one of our Express Fast Track services and place your order before 3pm. This will ensure your order is created and dispatched the same working day for guaranteed delivery by 1pm the next day.

Standard Delivery – Delivery within 3-5 working days from the day of dispatch.
This option is fulfilled by Royal Mail’s Tracked 48 service and most often arrives within 2 working days although this is not guaranteed. This is a fully tracked service and includes proof of delivery.
Premium Delivery – Delivery within 1-3 working days from the day of dispatch.
This option is fulfilled by Royal Mail’s Tracked 24 service and most often arrives within 1 working day although this is not guaranteed. This is a fully tracked service and includes proof of delivery.
Express Fast Track Weekday Delivery – Delivery guaranteed by 1pm the next working day from the day of order.
To qualify for this delivery option your order must be placed before 3pm.
This option is fulfilled by Royal Mail’s Special Delivery service and is guaranteed to arrive by 1pm the next working day if your order is placed before 3pm. This is a fully tracked service which requires a signature and includes proof of delivery.
If there is no-one available to sign for the parcel it will be taken to your local delivery office for collection. A calling card will be left at your delivery address, you can then re-arrange a second attempt to deliver if you prefer.
Express Fast Track Saturday Delivery – Delivery guaranteed by 1pm the next day (Saturday) from the day of order (Friday).
To qualify for this delivery option your order must be placed on Friday by 3pm.
This option is fulfilled by Royal Mail’s Special Delivery service and is guaranteed to arrive by 1pm on Saturday if your order is placed by 3pm on Friday. This is a fully tracked service which requires a signature and includes proof of delivery.
If there is no-one available to sign for the parcel it will be taken to your local delivery office for collection. A calling card will be left at your delivery address, you can then re-arrange a second attempt to deliver if you prefer.
Returns
At TLKC we strive to deliver the highest quality products and customer experience possible – when our customers are thrilled with their items, we are simply over the moon!
In the regrettable circ*mstance that you are not happy with your order please contact our friendly customer services team within 48 hours of receipt of your items. Our in-house team are available by phone, email or via social media from Mon-Fri between 9am-5pm and will strive to resolve any queries you may have as quickly as possible.
We cannot accept returns for an item which is excluded from the terms of our 14 day cooling off period, unless we are at fault. Please see further details below in the Cooling Off Period section.
In order to keep your item in perfect condition we recommend following the jewellery care advice on our website. We cannot accept responsibility for any items, lost, damaged or mistreated. Sterling Silver is a relatively soft metal, and if repeatedly knocked or trapped it can become misshapen.
If contacting us regarding a damaged or faulty item we will ask you to email photos of your item as delivered so we are able to best assess the item in the first instance. Our customer services team may then advise that your item is returned to us for further assessment.
If returning an item, as arranged with our customers services team, please include written details to let us know the name the order was placed under, the order number and a contact phone number. This will enable us to quickly resolve your query upon receipt of the returned item(s).
If returning an item, as arranged with our customers services team, we recommend using a recorded delivery service and obtaining a proof of postage for your returned items. We are unable to accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit which are being returned to us.
We cannot reimburse any postage costs incurred when returning items which are included in the cooling off period guarantee, unless we are at fault. Your refund will only include any postage costs incurred only if we are at fault.
Refunds can take up to 14 working days to process once we have confirmed receipt of the returning goods.
Earrings
Please note that we cannot refund or exchange pierced jewellery, e.g. earrings, due to hygiene reasons. Our collection of earrings does not include hygiene seals. Please note that earrings are non-refundable before placing your order.
Personalised & Engraved Items
Please note that we cannot refund or exchange personalised or engraved items unless the item is faulty or does not match the personalisation or engraving specifications placed in the order.
If incorrect personalisation or engraving specifications are made in customer error, we are unable to accept liability. Please contact our customer services team as soon as you notice the error and we will strive to amend your order if it has not yet been created by our studio team. If your item has already been created or dispatched we can strive to send out an amended order as quickly as possible – this will be at the expense of the customer.
Please double check all personalisation and engraving specifications are correct before placing your order.
Cooling Off Period
When you order from us online, you are entitled to a cooling off period when you can return your goods without any penalty. Our cooling off period is 14 days, which is inline with the statutory cooling off period.
This period starts the day the contract is agreed (i.e. you receive an email from us saying we have despatched your order) and ends 14 days after the day of delivery of the items. We cannot accept returns for an item after 14 days from the day of delivery of the item.
Certain items are excluded from the cooling off period guarantee, unless we are at fault. These are personalised or engraved items and pierced jewellery such as earrings due to hygiene reasons.
If you are returning an item which is included in the cooling off period guarantee the item must be returned to us in an unworn, saleable condition. If upon receipt the goods have been worn or damaged the item will be exempt from the cooling off period guarantee and we will not be able to offer you a refund.
If returning an item, as arranged with our customers services team, we recommend using a recorded delivery service and obtaining a proof of postage for your returned items. We are unable to accept liability for goods lost or damaged in transit which are being returned to us.
