You will love these Olympic-themed party ideas, from food to backyard games and lots of kid-friendly crafts!
Who else is super excited about the Olympics starting? We cannot wait! Especially since it's now been 3 years since the last Olympic games. As a family, we decided that we're going to have an Olympic-themed party for the opening ceremonies, and my kids are already brainstorming ideas.
There are so many fun ideas that we found, we just had to share with you guys. Which one of these ideas is sticking out to you? I want to make them all! This isn't specific to the Olympics, but you might also want to make some Ice Cream in a Bag this summer season! If you're looking for more ways to keep the family busy, check out our Kids Activities page!
Olympic Themed Party Recipes
These Olympic torches made with ice cream cones and candy flames are incredible! The perfect treat for opening ceremonies.
These gold medal cookies from I Heart Naptime are made with pull-and-peel licorice and golden Oreos. So cute and look really easy to make!
Okay, I never would think to put Cheetos in an ice cream cone but that is a really cute and festive snack for the Olympics! Living Well Spending Less is a genius!
Olympics Crafts
You know we love our crafts. A lot of these would be perfect for an Olympic-themed party. Party or not, they're great activities to do while you watch the games!
My kids are going to love making their own Olympic torches from Fun Loving Families! So fun for opening ceremonies.
This is the best Olympics decoration I have seen, and I love the idea of making the flags with my kids and learning about each country as we do it!! Fun, educational, and easy idea from Small for Big!
Oh Yay Studio is speaking my language with these Olympic rings made from different fabrics!
These laurel wreaths made from plastic spoons and they look so pretty!
Olympic Gold Medal Cereal Necklace
Okay my kids would love to make these gold medal cereal necklaces! Such a fun idea from My Sister's Suitcase
Laurel Crown Toilet Paper Roll Craft
This easy Laurel Crown from Tried & True looks easy and fun, and my kids love toilet paper roll crafts!
My kids would love to make these Olympic rings glasses from Small Fry blog!
Olympic Games to Play at Home
I think making backyard games into at-home Olympics is such a great idea. They're an especially fun way to get into the Olympic spirit while taking a break from the TV! It would be fun to do some bike relays or learn some skateboarding tricks too (YAY for skateboarding now being an Olympic sport!)
This Olympic rings ball toss from 'I Can Teach my Child' looks so fun and the whole family could play it together.
Olympic Rings Bean Bag Toss Game
This Olympic Ring bean bag toss game from Hoosier Handmade looks so fun, and they have lots of other game ideas too!
This frisbee Discus throwing game looks fun, and there are more Olympics backyard games at This Sweet Happy Life!
So sweet, huh? I love that (with just a few exceptions) all of the ideas are quick and easy, just my style. It is way too frequent that I see a cute idea but it never comes to fruition because I have no time. Those things I can do.
Happy Olympics everybody, GO USA!!!
xoxo,
