June is Men's Health Month, a time to bring awareness to the health issues faced by men. Each year in New York State, about 14,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer. The risk of developing prostate cancer increases with age, especially after the age of 65. Dr. Alan J. Looking at statistics to guide programming and policy is a must.Black women have a lower incidence of Breast Cancer, but a higher mortality rate. This basically means we're diagnosed slightly less, but more likely to die. One way to change this statistic is by early-detection...scheduling your annual mammogram and doing monthly Breast Self-Exams is a great start.

In the U.S., many of the reductions in cancer mortality have been achieved through effective public education and policy initiatives. This #NationalCancerPreventionMonth, it is critical to remind Congress to make cancer research a top, national priority. Learn more. https://lnkd.in/etwVD2RF
