Pour half (1.5 cups) of the white chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl.

Add half of the sweetened condensed milk.

Melt in the microwave at 30 second intervals, stirring in between. Continue until the chocolate chips are melted.

This should only take one to two 30 second intervals in the microwave, depending on your microwave’s heat. Be sure to not over-melt and burn the chocolate chips.

Add five (or so) drops of red food coloring. Stir until combined.

This will give you a bright bubble gum pink color. If you want a deeper red, add more food coloring.

Pour the mixture into a foil-lined 8×8 cake pan. Use the back of a spoon or an icing knife to make sure it’s flat and even.

Let it cool in the fridge for 20 minutes until a hardened layer is formed on top.

Pour the rest of the white chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk into a microwave-safe bowl.

Melt in the microwave at 30 second intervals until the chocolate chips are melted. Stir until combined.

Pour the white mixture on top of the hardened pink mixture. Spread it with the back of a spoon or an icing knife to make an even layer.

Add a few dots of red gel icing on top of the white mixture, making sure to spread them out all over the top.

Use a toothpick to gently swirl the red gel icing into the white.

Make sure to not dig too deep with the toothpick because you don’t want to really go below the surface of the white.

When you have a design you like, sprinkle the heart-shaped sprinkles on top.

Use the opposite side of the toothpick to gently push them into thefudge.

I know, this part feels tedious, but if you don’t do it, the sprinkles will just sit on top of thefudgeand won’t get stuck.

Then, when you cut thefudge, the majority of the sprinkles will fall off and get wasted.

Cool in the fridge at least two hours, but preferably overnight.

2 Ingredient Valentine’s Day Fudge: Frequently Asked Questions

Can you skip the food coloring?

If you omit food coloring from your recipes, you can skip the food coloring in this. But, you would just end up with a whitefudgeand it wouldn’t look very Valentine’s Day like. So, I would instead look for an all-natural food coloring.

Keep in mind that you’ll also want to look for all-natural sprinkles because those sprinkles also have food coloring.

Can you add anything else into theValentine’s Day fudge?

If you don’t feel like makingfudgewith sprinkles, that’s okay. You can swap out the sprinkles for conversation hearts, chocolate-coated chocolates, anything you want really.

Just keep in mind that thefudgeis really soft, and the sprinkles are really small, so they don’t take away from the mouth feel of thefudge. But, something like conversation hearts are usually really hard. So you’ll be crunching through thefudge, which isn’t that great.

How can you store 2 Ingredient Valentine’s DayFudge?

After you cut the Valentine’s Dayfudge, store it in an air-tight container in the refrigerator.

If you place parchment paper between the layers offudgein the container, they’ll hold their shape better when you’re taking a piece out of the container.

Fudgewill last a week or two at room temperature, but can realistically last up to four weeks at room temperature. If you are keeping it for longer than two weeks, fudgeis best stored in the fridge. It will last four to eight weeks there.

Just make sure that the container you are storing thefudgein is actually air tight. The cold air will dry thefudgeout and it won’t last as long.

Can you use dark or milk chocolate chips in fudge?

If you don’t like white chocolate, you can definitely use dark or milk chocolate chips in this recipe instead. You just won’t end up with this pink white chocolate fudge combination.

You’ll also have a few things besides color to keep in mind.

So, white chocolate isn’t actually chocolate because it doesn’t contain chocolate solids. There’s a whole reasoning behind that, which is interesting but not relevant to this recipe. You can actually read about that here.

Since white chocolate isn’t chocolate, you can add food coloring to it. Not just because it will take the color better but also because water-based food colorings end up ruining dark or milk chocolate. You can use coloring oil, but no one I know ever has that.

All that is a long lead up to say if you want to make this with dark or milk chocolate chips, melt three cups with the entire can of sweetened condensed milk. Pour it into a foil-lined 8×8 cake pan.

If you want to add a pink or red swirl on top, melt pink candy melts or red candy melts and add a few dollops of those on top of thefudge. Use a toothpick to swirl the candy melts into the top of thefudge. Then pour the sprinkles on top, pushing them down with the back of the toothpick.

Can you freezefudge?

If you want to save thisfudgein the freezer, wrap it in parchment paper and then foil. Then, put it in a freezer-safe container or zip top bag. It will stay fresh for months that way.

If you do freezefudge, be sure to thaw it in the fridge overnight before eating.
